Ishita
Mukhopadhyay is Professor, Department of Economics and Director,
Women's Studies Research Centre, University of Calcutta. Teaching
and research experience over 25 years. Works on Development Economics,
Mathematical Modelling, Gender and Labour. She prefers to adopt
interdisciplinary methodology. She has supervised research and taught
graduate courses intensively. She has an experience in Action Research
for 20 years. She has collaborative research experience with universities
in USA and UK and visited several countries in Europe, Africa and
Latin America through collaborative interactions. She also works
with Ministries in India and State of West Bengal. She was part
of the group to work out CEDAW Alternative Report of India in CEDAW
Meeting 2014 held at Geneva. Her recently concluded projects include
DFID funded action research on Poverty and Political Empowerment
of Women and Swedish organisation SOLAQUA funded SODIS: A Solar
water purifier to prevent water-borne diseases among poor people.
